In the future county plan Buckland is not slated for meaningful development. There is an imminent danger that developers will buy the Jill Wellesley land and buildings to redevelop. Given the current government's desire to build housing anywhere and anytime, it is important that the CLP makes a statement regarding housing asap. Developers have the deep pockets to take negative planning applications to the Planning Inspectorate and beyond, and win in 98% of the cases. We need to think about protecting ourselves from developments that would not be in keeping with what we think Buckland is.
