I think the parish would benefit from a community open space where people of all ages could congregate on a warm spring or summer's day. One option is a boules park similar to the one in Faringdon, which is attractively landscaped with seating around the court and well worth a visit if you have not seen it. En route to Tesco's in my car, I have regularly noticed groups of various ages playing and chatting at the Faringdon park. I think a boules park in Buckland would be fun, and could appeal to a wide cross-section of the parish - not just absinthe-addled/Gauloises-smoking oldies! We could stage senior and junior competitions that would, I'm sure, strengthen our community ties.
