In my many years working for the National Trust and other conservation charities, there is always talk of 'the spirit of the place'. Much of the spirit of Buckland resides in its built environment but also in the fact that we are by heritage an estate village, and today Louise Wellesley manages and owns the estate for herself and future generations. It is all well and good for us to suggest loads of things for the built environment, but these would need to have Louise's agreement and hopefully blessing. I'm sure Louise has her own ideas and it would be great to hear these so we can work together 'in the spirit of the place'. With my CPRE hat on for Vale & South, I can say that none of the large solar farms have been approved in the county plan going forward, and the one proposed at Denchworth was turned down last December.
